When the disciples came unto Jesus privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Matthew 24:4, which was repeatedly warned, "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:5, "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:11, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24.
We are now living in the last days. So, expect deceptions to be everywhere and many are deceived! The greatest dangers are from those who profess to be followers of Christ, but are deceiving and being deceived! "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Matthew 7:15. "... the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." Matthew 15:14. "... Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, ..." Jeremiah 17:5
And how great the deceptions are! Despite the warning, many continue in "... broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, ..." Matthew 7:13. In the end, many will be rejected. "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:22-23.
Few found "... narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, ..." Matthew 7:14. We need to study the bible ourselves. We need to search the truth as hid treasures! We need to be like the Bereans, "... received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:21. "... the truth shall make you free." John 8:31.
Unfortunately, many do not want the truth. "... that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, ..." John 3:19. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" 2 Timothy 4:3. As a result, "... This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Mark 7:6. Many "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: ..." 2 Timothy 3:5. "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9.
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20. Will you open your heart to God? The course you choose will decide your eternal destiny.
John 18:37 ... Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
